Every day, children are admitted to hospital feeling frightened, overwhelmed and out of control. They face pain, unfamiliar environments and a loss of control. For many, anxiety and distress become part of their care experience.

Clowndoctors help children feel less afraid, less lonely and better able to cope.

But we are not there every day.

Around 150,000 children pass through Scotland’s major children’s hospitals each year.
Around 2,000 currently receive support from Clowndoctors.

This support should not be for the lucky few.

Partnering with Hearts & Minds helps close that gap—bringing emotional support to children at the moments they need it most.

“Their presence transformed a volatile moment into one of joy and relief… I genuinely don’t know how we would have managed without them.”

Longer-term partnerships help embed the Clowndoctors into clinical care, placing them at the crisis points of pediatric care – in pre-op, A+E and to support children through minor procedures.
